VundoFix is a simple malware removal tool that can get rid of almost any of the Vundo line of Trojan Horse infections on a Windows-based PC. Users simply have to download a single file, open it and click a single scan button.

Whenever the app finds evidence of an infection, it will prompt you to remove it. The Windows desktop might go blank for a moment and your computer could restart. Once you're done, though, you should be free of most traces of the infection.

Since it may be impossible for VundoFix or any other tool to remove every last file, especially if one was in use at the time of the scan, users can then run Microsoft's own Malicious Software Removal Tool to get rid of any other potentially unwanted programs.

Users who previously saw screens from the Vundo Trojan should no longer have to view this content. If anything is left after a reboot, then you could run the app a second time. Since it weighs less than 130 kilobytes, there's nothing stopping you from putting it on a flash drive or SD card and taking it to every infected Windows machine you know of.

Best of all, VundoFix is effective against rogue security programs like WinAntiVirus, ErrorSafe, Amaena, WinFixer, DriveCleaner and SystemDoctor. It can eliminate all of these fake scam programs the first time you run it.

Anyone with a computer running Windows XP through 10 should find that VundoFix will run normally, but you might need to agree to a User Account Control prompt to get it to work.
